A PATRIOTIC LABOR DAY

Barry and I (along with the kids) actually ENJOYED a Labor Day. We traveled on Saturday to Wilmington and took in the sights and sounds of the U.S.S. North Carolina. It was a great thing for both us and the kids. I was surprised at how much they enjoyed it --- especially Joseph!!! Barry has always been a history buff, so this was right up his alley. We've decided that the two of us would like to go back again because we were too busy chasing a three year old around, pulling him off of guns and out of cubbie-holes, to read all the neat information posted. It certainly does give you a sense of American pride to take a few minutes and ponder the price that our freedom cost. Remember to pray for our troops and our country's leaders as change faces our nation.

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
II Chronicles 7:14

First, of all.... yes, it was that hot!!! Check out the sweat running down little Ben's sweet face! He was such a trooper on our Labor Day excursion! He didn't even really get fussy until right at the end, after over 3 hours down in the stuffy belly of a battleship! By the time we got to this point, the kids were on the lookout for a water fountain and drowning their heads in it (yeah, I know: really SANITARY, huh?).

Second of all, see that funny man? That would be my husband playing "Shoot that cloud over there" with our oldest son. The two of them had quite a time aiming for the same cloud!
